Polish sportsbooks STS and Fortuna have flexed their muscles in the country’s market once more.
At the Polish Bookmaker Awards, the pair collected eight of the 11 available awards between them.
New and continued success
Fortuna picked up the main award at the awards, having done likewise last year. After this, CEO Konrad Komarczuk said the following.
“I am very proud of my team who did a great job last year. Retaining the main award proves that we’re going in a good direction.”
Fortuna was also victorious in Best Social Campaign, which acknowledged the bookmaker which did the most for the local community last year. The operator gave 0.30 Euros to all spectators, in all stadiums, of all Polish Second Division matches. This could then be donated to a charitable foundation at the end of the season.
Along with continuing its success in Poland, STS also became the UK’s first Polish sportsbook. This was after being granted a licence to operate here in December 2019.
Other winners
Forbet, which is Poland’s third-largest sportsbook by market share, was also acknowledged at the ceremony. For the second consecutive year, the operator finished on top of the Best Odds category.
Meanwhile, Betclic won Best Debut. That was helped by French operator’s successful marketing campaign in Poland last year.
About the awards
The Polish Bookmaker Awards was organised by Legalni Bukmacherzy, one of the country’s largest affiliate sites.
Jerzy Mielewski, a famous Polish sports commentator, hosted the event. All took place at the Hotel Intercontinental Warsaw, in the country’s capital.
This year, five new categories were added. In addition to Best Social Campaign and Best Debut, the following were brought in.
- Best Innovation;
- Best Customer Service;
- Best Bookies by Bettors.
