Creators from underrepresented communities can gain from an expansion of Pinterest’s Creator Inclusion Fund.
The program, first launched in 2021 with US creators, included UK and Brazilian users in the past and has been recently expanded across five new countries.
As per Pinterest: “Today, Pinterest is announcing the expansion of its Creator Inclusion Fund to five new countries: Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. The Fund is Pinterest’s incubator program to elevate Creators from historically marginalized communities through financial and educational support.”
“The program was started in 2021 because Pinterest saw a need to uplift Creators from communities that have been disproportionately underrepresented – including Black, Latiné, LGBTQIA+, Asian, Indigenous people and people with disabilities.”
The program, like creator funds in YouTube and TikTok, aims to see creators benefiting from their work creating content on the app, but is also aiming to raise awareness of a particular cause every year.
“The first North American Creator Inclusion Fund cycle of 2023 will be focused on sustainability since people on Pinterest are actively looking for ways to be more eco-conscious. Participants will create Pins and Pinterest boards focused on upcycling, foraging, farming, thrifting, gardening, and more sustainable-focused content for the duration of the program.”
