Parimatch has become the very first operator to obtain an iGaming licence in Ukraine, allowing the brand to offer online casinos, poker, and sports betting to customers in the country.
Parimatch announced earlier in March that it had fully completed its Ukraine licencing provisions, marking the brand as the very first to secure a sports betting, online casino, and poker licence from the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRGL).
Awaiting the final regulatory decisions before launch
The company has been waiting for eleven years to obtain an online gambling licence from Ukraine, where the Parimatch Group was originally founded. Following on from the introduction of the Ukraine Gambling Law, the brand can finally launch in its home country.
Parimatch has yet to announce a launch date for its iGaming services, as it awaits the final decisions regarding online gambling taxation, licencing costs, and technical accreditation systems.
A new and exciting market for iGaming affiliates
“Work still remains to be done on reforming tax legislation before the Ukrainian market becomes attractive to foreign investors,” said Maksym Liashko, the Managing Partner of Parimatch Holdings. “Taxation should be transparent and logical so that it doesn’t create additional obstacles for foreign investors.”
Liashko continued: “Under favourable legal conditions, specialist market capacity and qualifications will allow Ukraine to become a gaming hub for the Eastern Europe region. Like Malta and Manila, Ukraine now has the potential to become a centre of expertise for gambling entertainment.”
Now the Ukrainian market is starting to open up, iGaming affiliates should jump at the opportunity to expand their international outreach.
