Making content creation easier with TextExpander

Writing all day can be a challenge, especially if what you’re writing about is technical or just plain repetitive. Since our brains can only handle so much, it’s important to automate where you can and free up as much energy as possible to get creative.

Spelling the brand name (and everything else) correctly, every time

Autocorrecting text with TextExpander is much more accurate, thanks to the public groups it has which can be subscribed to. One example of this is TidBITSautocorrect, which has 47 pages of commonly misspelled word snippets created. This will seriously decrease the amount of time you spend fixing misspellings.

… Converting for the language you’re writing for 

If you’re writing for a British audience, you’ll want to use UK English. And of course, you’ll want to use US English when writing for users based on the other side of the Atlantic.

In both instances, TextExpander enables autocorrect to be utilised for whichever of these forms of English you want to write for. There are also public groups to help with this here.

When you don’t want autocorrections to take place, you can turn off these snippet groups in the user interface.

Consistent Branding
If a content team is working with a client list, creating snippets for the clients information is useful. This is especially the case when more than one person is writing content. The TextExpander tool provides consistent branding for the client that everyone on the team will use, which creates uniformity between all of the articles, as is explained in the video below.
