Former Group Marketing Director at Thomas Cook, Jamie Queen, is set to join Buzz Bingo as the group’s new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) which will see him oversee the newly rebranded commercial operations at Buzz Bingo.
Queen is set to begin the newly created role in June 2019, tasked with both overseeing and enhancing the brand’s development and customer interactions division.
The new CCO will report directly to Chief Executive Chris Matthews, who commented on the appointment: “Jamie impressed us with his passion for understanding what drives customer behaviour, his interest in disruptive innovation and his ability to harness the latest technology. He has an excellent track record in managing businesses across digital and retail platforms”
“At a time when Buzz is going through rapid change and exciting development, we are extremely positive about what Jamie will bring to both the executive management team and the organisation as a whole.”
Queen also celebrated the new appointment, commenting: “Buzz Bingo is a great brand with an interesting story to tell. With its strong credentials in offering first-rate entertainment across the UK, it’s very well-positioned to capitalise on the growing trend for consumers to seek out interesting and authentic experiences.
“At the same time, with its new digital platform showing strong growth, I’m excited about how the omni-channel brand evolves.”
Buzz Bingo, formerly Gala Leisure, underwent a £40m makeover back in 2018, in a bid to significantly improve its 100 UK bingo clubs, with the operator seeking to attract a new audience.
The former subsidiary of Gala Coral enlisted Playtech Plc to help relaunch its online gambling offering, seeing Playtech become the lead omni-channel systems provider.
