Nick Seddon, content editor of horse racing affiliate website Horseracing.net has been named as the winner of HWPA’s Emerging Talent Award. The annual Horserace Writers and Photographers Association Derby Awards took place on 10 December 2020 with some top talent taking home the prizes.
Emerging Talent award
The HWPA Emerging Talent Award nominees included Adam Houghton of Timeform, Callum Jamieson of The Sun and Josh Stacey of the Racing Post. Nick Seddon was among some talented writers and editors but managed to scoop the prize for himself.
To qualify for the award, nominees must be under the age of 30. Seddon, 28, was very pleased to have won this award in such a talented pool. He has had an impressive career so far with some big interviews under his belt over the last 18 months. He also presents the brand’s ‘Racing from Home’ and ‘Jumps Racing’ podcasts.
He said: “I’m gobsmacked to be honest. I’m very proud to have won an award that was contested by some really excellent writers and broadcasters. I’m thankful to the HWPA for the honour.”
A proud night for Moneta Communications
Horseracing.net is owned by Moneta Communications and it was launched back in 2019. The site was launched not long after Nick was appointed Content Editor and he has helped to grow the brand.
COO of Moneta Communications, Russell Palmer said: “Nick’s award win is a real boost for both Horseracing.net and Moneta Communications respectively. This award is a symbol of the hard work that’s gone on behind the scenes to help spearhead the brand into the forefront of the horse racing industry. We are very proud to have a writer and presenter of Nick’s calibre to aid us in fulfilling our goals.”
Hopefully, this win by Nick Seddon helps to propel Horseracing.net and their products further towards success in 2021.
