In a recent announcement, it was revealed that popular social media channel Instagram would be releasing an update for both Reels and Live. This update would allow creators and brands to check the insights for this kind of content and generate a more cohesive plan. So, what does this update involve and how can affiliates use Instagram Reels Analytics?
What does the update involve?
If you have been using Instagram Reels or Live content for a while now, you’ll be aware that it was only really possible to check the number of views on the video content. While this has been useful for some affiliates, it doesn’t quite match up with the strength of the insights available for regular posts.
According to the channel, the new Instagram Reels Analytics will allow users to access metrics such as plays, likes, comments, saves, shares and accounts reached. These insights will be available for both individual Reels and in the Insights tab.
In addition to this, users will also be able to check on their live content. Peak concurrent viewers, comments, accounts reached and shares will be available for Live videos.
How to access these insights
The good news is that Instagram has made it easy to access the insights of both Reels and Live content. However, you must have a creator or a business account to gain access to these.
To reach the valuable data, simply head to your profile and tap the ‘insights’ button. There, you’ll find 30 days’ worth of analytics for every kind of content. If you want to check on an individual reel, visit the Reels tab and then tap the three dot icon. There, you’ll find a detailed overview of the performance.
How can this benefit affiliates?
If you are spending time creating content for social channels, you need to be measuring its success. The last thing you want to do is waste your time on content that isn’t reaching your target audience or delivering the results that you are hoping for.
As affiliates, every second counts, as does any budget spent on creating video content. So, you must analyse each of your Reels and determine what is the best process going forward. If you have content that isn’t working with your audience, it might be time to rethink your strategy.
Affiliates can also use the new Instagram Reels Analytics to showcase the results that they are getting to affiliate managers. If you want to prove your worth in a network, why not showcase how well your Reels are performing?
Make use of this tool
It is always a good idea to read up on the latest updates that are rolled out on social media channels like Instagram. These features are added for a good reason and so you must learn to make use of anything that could help to boost your program.
If you aren’t already using Reels or Live content, it might be time to rethink that strategy. Join millions of other creators and get that extra reach that you need to build your brand.
