Gambling harm charity GamCare has awarded major gambling operator Entain the Advanced Safer Gambling Standard.
The Safer Gambling Standard is an independent quality standard which looks at what businesses are doing to protect their customers from any gambling-related harm.
The standard was awarded to show recognition of Entain’s social responsibility and player protection services across both its land-based and online operations in Great Britain.
Entain has been awarded an Advanced Level 2 Safer Gambling Standard for its land-based activities, as well as an Advanced Level 3, the highest level of accreditation available, for its online operations.
Robert Hoskin, the chief governance officer of Entain, released a statement: “Sustainability, and with that – responsibility, is at the heart of our strategy and is fundamental to the way we do business,
“We work hard to provide our customers with the safest and most trusted environment to play, whether online or in our shops, and are committed to continuing to lead the industry to the highest standards of social responsibility in the longer term.”
The awarding of the standard comes from Entain partnering with a selection of real-money gaming and gambling businesses to form what is known as the Global Gaming Alliance who are aiming to create an industry that is both fair and sustainable as gaming evolves. The alliance is supported by a variety of companies, including Facebook’s parent company Meta, as well as DraftKings, 89Trillion and Habby.
Entain has reported that it is continuing to expand on its ARC responsible gaming solution, holding player protection trials across a variety of international markets in the hope of opening services up to customers worldwide.
