Safer gambling platform GambleAware has created a Lived Experience Council and is now looking for applicants to join it.
Those joining the Council will have experienced harm from gambling or will have been otherwise impacted by gambling harm in some way. They will work with GambleAware to better guide its future strategy.
This is expected to include work on the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms, which GambleAware is responsible for delivering. They will also provide advice to help create programmes and activities to help support the activities of the charity in the future.
The CEO of GambleAware, Zoë Osmond, said, “We are committed to meaningful and inclusive involvement of those with lived experience of gambling harms to ensure their voice is amplified across all areas of our work.
“As an imperative step in this process, we are pleased to be launching and opening the call for applications for GambleAware’s new Lived Experience Council.

“The new Council and community members will bring their unique insight, expertise, and knowledge to GambleAware and help us in creating a society free from gambling harms.”
These new initiatives will help to create policies that have been shaped by those who have been impacted by gambling directly. This will then hopefully create an environment that is safer for all.
