Football fan bags £8000 jackpot after playing 888sport’s Up For 8

Raul Jimenez‘s last-minute winner for Wolves has scooped one lucky winner £8,000 in 888sport‘s new Up For 8 game, with this time being the first time the top prize has been given away.

Mark Hubbard, an IT worker from Eastleigh, has become the fist ever winner of the Up For 8 jackpot, after he correctly predicted all eight results over the weekend.

Mark Hubbard said:“This was the first time I had played Up For 8 – I only signed up with 888sport last week, and went on to check how my bets had got on over the weekend, to see a slightly different balance in my account! I went onto live chat to see if there was some sort of mistake, but was delighted to find I had won!

“My biggest betting win before this is about £100, so nothing quite like this before. I’ve played a few of these games before and never had anything come off, so I’m delighted.

“There wasn’t much research in the picks – I just went with the teams I thought had a chance and followed my instinct. Will have to follow the same tactics for next time too.”

Mark backed wins for Southampton, West Ham, Leicester, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool, while he also predicted draws between Blackburn and Cardiff and Wolves v Burnley – though it was the 95th minute goal for Wolves in the final match of the game week which proved to be the most decisive.

This is the first time there has been a win on the Up For 8 jackpot in the three weeks since it has launched at the start of the new season, however there has been five players who have narrowly missed out with seven of eight correct results.

888sport’s free-to-play football predictor Up For 8 allows players to predict eight results over one weekend, with a £8,000 jackpot up for grabs if they name them all, with a free £1 bet being given for every correct pick.

An 888sport spokesman said: “The first winner of Up For 8 couldn’t have come in more dramatic circumstances – with the last kick of the last game of the weekend.
“Raul Jimenez’s penalty helped Mark scoop the £8k jackpot – and we hope he’ll be the first winner of many this season.”
