Twitter has finally rolled out the first stage of its Tweet Edit function. According to the company, the feature is now available to members of the Twitter subscription service Twitter Blue in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
Users of the platform have been crying out for an edit option for years, and for a long time, it seemed like their calls would go unanswered. However, much to the delight of Tweeters worldwide, the social media platform announced earlier this month that it was beginning to test the feature.
Users will be able to make up to five edits to their Tweets for up to 30 minutes after posting. They will be informed about the option via a notification and will be able to access the feature by clicking the three dots drop-down menu at the top right of a Tweet.
All edited Tweets will be labeled as such, to inform other users that they have been changed. Users will also be able to view a Tweet’s edit history by tapping the ‘Last Edited’ option in the Tweet’s details menu.
Twitter went on to confirm that the feature will also roll out to Twitter Blue users in the US shortly. As of now, news of a full launch for all Twitter users is yet to be disclosed.
