Caesars Entertainment has opened two new sportsbooks at Louisiana casinos, as well as a poker room that is now the largest in the state.
Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel & Casino will both benefit from new Caesars Sportsbook facilities, with Harrah’s chosen to host Caesars’ all-new World Series of Poker (WSOP) Room.
Ceremonial events were held at each casino to celebrate the sportsbooks’ grand openings, with ribbon-cutting and an official first wager taking place.
“This was a special week for Caesars and our longstanding commitment to Louisiana. The opening of our world-class Caesars Sportsbook locations and the new WSOP Room add to the legacy that Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City have built in the Gulf Coast region,” said Caesars Entertainment Regional President Dan Real.
The Harrah’s sportsbook features four betting windows and 12 self-service betting kiosks, with the 5,000-square-foot WSOP Room containing 20 poker tables.
The developments come as part of the $325m project to transition Harrah’s into Caesars New Orleans, expected to be completed by 2024.
Horseshoe Bossier City’s sportsbook features three betting windows and 15 self-service betting kiosks, with 94 TV screens, a VIP viewing section, and a bar.
The moves come as part of Caesars’ continued commitment to the development of gambling in Louisiana after the state legalised sports betting last year, with plans to open further sportsbook locations in the future.
Louisiana launched mobile sports betting at the beginning of 2022, with a range of operators now providing services in the state.
