Betzest has been awarded a B2C licence by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
As a result, the operator will now be able to offer its sportsbook and casino services in additional European markets.
Moving forward
The Maltese B2C licence builds on Betzest’s growth since it launched in July 2018. Since then, it has become a reputable name with players. Affiliates are also able to benefit from the brand, through the Betzest Affiliate Program.
Marius Filip, Founder & CMO of Betzest, was delighted to obtain a MGA B2C licence. He commented afterwards, saying the following.
“We will continue offering sportsbook and casino entertainment to our players now under MGA licence, ensuring fully legal, safe and secure online gaming environment. We see it as the biggest milestone in Betzest rapid expansion into EU and international markets.”
Filip continued: “We’ve had an extremely pro-active start to 2020 with a remarkable collection of world-class casino and payment providers on the way. I’m certain the best is yet to come.”
Continuing 2019 growth into the new year
In December 2019, Betzest expanded its casino portfolio via Iron Dog Studio. That built on the deal it signed with Playson last September, which also boosted its content offerings.
The brand is also powered by SportingTech. Tiago Almeida, CEO of said company, spoke about Betzest’s Maltese licence after it was awarded. His words were:
“The MGA is one of the top authorities in iGaming regulation. Acquiring its prestigious License is a significant milestone for any operator and provider.”
Almeida also went on to say: “The issuing of this B2C licence brings additional value to the SportingTech brand… and access to new regulated markets. We’re very excited and proud to see our client go live with this newly-acquired licence.”
Meanwhile, Cihan Onerci – Betzest Chief Operating Officer – also had his say. Onerci referred to the MGA licence as “one of the most reputable in the world”. He also said that getting one was a “massive achievement”.
