UK charity BetBlocker has announced a partnership with casino review aggregator ThePogg through which they have launched a support system for vulnerable gamblers.
The Responsible Gambling Directory (RGD) offers problem players a range of services and opportunities to access help and support for their gambling problems.
The service will provide support in six key areas: helplines, information and resources, gambling-blocking features, therapy, support groups, and emergency assistance. Users will also be offered the chance to contact third-party agencies including self-exclusion services, self-help groups, and residential facilities.
BetBlocker, which offers users the option to block gambling websites through the use of an app, was able to launch the RGD with the help and industry expertise of ThePOGG. The service officially debuted during the Betting and Gaming Council’s Safer Gambling Week 2022, which took place this month.
“We are delighted that we have successfully compiled the most comprehensive list of resources available to problem gamblers across the world – the industry has been lacking this for some time.
“It’s great to plug another hole in the responsible gambling structure. No matter what level of intervention or support a player thinks they need, the RGD will make it possible for them to find it pretty much instantaneously,” said BetBlocker Founder and Trustee Duncan Garvie.
Earlier this year, BetBlocker partnered with operator DraftKings to raise awareness of and promote responsible gambling tools and practices.
