US-based, AR Sports has been awarded patents for its fantasy sports platform with Augmented Reality (AR) player acquisition solution.
The company has been currently developing a platform which is put in place in order to provide for both traditional fantasy sports leagues, as well as a week-to-week fantasy sports challenge.
Participants in all leagues can use AR to create and complete their roster, with AR Sports exploring potential partners for co-development on the project.
AR Sports has committed to the project as it has said that it expects AR fantasy sports to revolutionise the experience by moving player acquisition from traditional methods into AR.
Players can physically assemble their fantasy team as they encounter virtual sports figures in areas such as their living room, kitchen or backyard. Fantasy players will be appearing on the mobile device and can interact with the participant.
The system will also have an AR advertising module, which enables advertisers to target participants using their geolocation in relation to stores, restaurants and businesses.
In addition to this, the system will also be able to incorporate independent AR logos that, if captured, present members with coupons or promotions in their brands.
Lenny Parisi, chief executive and founder of AR Sports, said: “We are extremely excited about this important milestone. Building our intellectual property has been a priority for our team.
“We are continuing to enhance the software platform and continuing to integrate the augmented reality advertising system.”
The US Patent Numbers that apply to the AR technology are 10,384.130 and 10,384,131.
