Affiliate partners took to forums to express concern after it appears that several of them partnering with Affilka were hacked. What initially started as one partner expressing concern soon turned into a forum-wide discussion with many partners reporting the same problem.
Affiliate Guard Dog forum posts break the news
As the first comment on the forum puts it: “Seems like someone has hacked Affilka. Several affiliates have had their Affilka accounts hacked with someone adding CoinsPaid etc. in their wallets.”
Affiliates were notified of hackers using crypto withdrawals to commandeer unsuspecting affiliate account holders to gain access to their balances which are housed in cryptocurrency.
According to ongoing conversation, it seems Afflika supported affiliate programs have been affected, with various partners reporting an unfounded addition of random CoinsPaid addresses.
Swift actions taken by Affilka to communicate next steps
As yet, Affilka itself has yet to comment on the suspected hack, however, members of the Affiliate Guard Dog forum expressing concern said that N1, Affilka’s umbrella company, were very quick to act and helpful. It was mentioned that a mass email was executed encouraging users to take up two-factor authentication.
The email said:
“We would like to bring an important topic to the table about your account security. We highly recommend starting using two-factor authentication – for security purposes. This option should be available in your account, and you can set it up in just two minutes.”
Protect your account and set up Two-Factor Authentications
This action is required to keep account access most secure. Two-factor authentication options ensure that your data is protected with an extra layer for when hackers try to get access to your accounts and is important for partners to set up when using platforms that access personal data.
Programs operating on the Affilka platform should contact their representatives directly and ensure their partners are also notified of actions that should be taken. Swift communication and resolutions have been seen when it comes to this event as the forum continues to update on the topic.
