Affiliate Spotlight: Thomas Jones, bingosites.co.uk

In today’s edition of Affiliate Spotlight, we speak to Thomas Jones about Total Odds’ bingosites.co.uk website. Thomas is the founder of Total Odds Media, an online marketing specialist.

Jones discusses the challenges related to running a bingo affiliate site, as well as visitors’ favourite games and more.

Affiverse: How did the idea for bingosites.co.uk come around?

Thomas Jones: “Around 10 years ago, my business partner and I noticed there was a real lack of quality online bingo review websites. Being slots and bingo players ourselves, we decided to launch a dedicated online bingo review and comparison website.

“We were able to secure our domain name and started to develop the website with the aim of providing our audience the best bingo sites with a UK gambling licence.”

AI:  In your opinion, what are the biggest opportunities within bingo for operators/affiliates within other competitive verticals (e.g. sports betting)?

TJ: “The stereotypical bingo player has evolved from the days of the bingo halls. We now have a much broader audience in terms of age range. Therefore, a lot of online bingo players tend to play a wide range of games with the most popular being the slots side games.

“By adding bingo games to an operator’s portfolio, they could tap into a new traffic channel and for bingo operators, by adding slots games from the top developers, they could become more attractive to the savvy player.” 

AI:What are the biggest challenges of running a bingo affiliate website? 

TJ:”As of late, compliance has become a major issue for online bingo along with the industry as a whole.

“As we review a lot of bingo sites, staying up to date with all of the compliance requirements can be quite a workload. Also, choosing which operators to work with needs to be done carefully, as we want long lasting relationships and not to work with operators that come and go within a year.”

AI: In general, what is the most common demographic on your website and which games/brands do they enjoy the most? 

TJ: “From looking at a combination of our traffic sources, we see more women than men coming to our site.

“The gap is closing, as more men are now playing bingo games. Apart from the regular bingo games, a lot of players like the slot games Fluffy Favourites and Rainbow Riches.”

AI: You’ve got a ‘review’ option for bingo sites that appear. What are the main benefits of letting players read your reviews?

TJ: “We are an independent review website and our review team actually signs up to each bingo site we list and tests the welcome bonus, customer support, banking methods and games on offer. We highlight the good and bad points within our reviews.

“We tend to see a lot of players read multiple reviews and do their due diligence before clicking through to an operator.”
