Not long ago, Affiverse CEO and co-founder Lee-Ann Johnstone headed to Bali for some R&R. While in Indonesia, she still had some time to discover a few more affiliate marketing lessons.
Nobody wants to flap around in the ocean, chasing fish. You’d rather enjoy your surroundings and let your surrounding ocean of competition push you forward to meet new affiliates, right?
This week’s Affiliate Drive Time addresses that. Here are a couple of things you can do to make sure that happens.
Be proactive.
Make sure that you’ree actively marketing your affiliate program on forums, news sites, in third-party directories and at events.
Think about the content you share.
Keep pushing content that is valuable and educational on your social channels. You need to make sure that affiliates are able to like, comment and share. It’s not about selling your program, but rather building a rapport between your brand and the affiliates you’d like to work with.
Use your affiliates to refer others.
This can be forgotten easily, but the best referrals come from word-of-mouth. Make sure that you think of your affiliates as brand ambassadors. Alongside your other marketing efforts, get them to refer their network to your program too.
Engage in conversation.
Hanging out in online forums is great for keeping abreast of what’s topical and things that affiliates are struggling with. So, this feeds into point two above. Use these conversational opportunities to engage new partners, ask questions and understand others’ struggles. You can then market your own self and the program brand you’re plugging.
