When you are communicating with affiliates in your program, you need to make sure that you are engaging with them as much as you can. Personalisation can go a long way when it comes to showing affiliates that you are interested in building a relationship and keeping them updated with the latest promotions.
Unfortunately, not all affiliate managers are communicating effectively with affiliates and this can cause problems. Don’t worry – there are ways to make this easier and tackle the root of the problem.
In this week’s episode of Affiliate Drive Time, Lee-Ann discusses the importance of personalisation and how affiliate managers can use marketing automation tools to achieve this. Watch the video below and keep reading to hear more about how you can improve communication.
Are brands getting it right?
Affiliate managers typically have a lot on their plate and sometimes there just isn’t a lot of spare time to be creating personalised messages and calling up affiliates. However, this doesn’t excuse blanket emails that are sent out to affiliates when they really are just not relevant to their market.
Getting it right is so important when it comes to maintaining the relationship and ensuring that affiliates are getting the information and updates that they need to do their job. If they are receiving outdated offers or information that is not relevant to their market, they could mistakenly offer it on their website.
So, while some brands are getting it right, others could benefit from making some simple changes to the way that they communicate.
Use marketing automation tools
One of the best ways to improve communication with affiliates is to offer a personalised message, using marketing automation tools. If you aren’t already using tools to improve your program, you could be seriously missing out. Last week in Affiliate Drive Time, Lee-Ann discussed some of the tools that she uses to run affiliate programs. You can learn more about these tools here.
If you are looking for some quick fixes to get a more personalised message out there, why not consider sending an audio text to affiliates? You can record yourself talking about the latest promotions and giving information that is relevant to your affiliates. This can then be sent on via email – easy!
Another great way to do this is to use Loom to create a short video run-through of your newsletter. Affiliates receive tons of newsletters each week, so you need to make sure that yours doesn’t get lost in the inbox. Why not use Loom to show your face and run through the points that matter to a specific affiliate? This will take some time, but the results will be worth it in the end.
Don’t wait around…
We have only scratched the surface of what you can do when it comes to using marketing automation tools. Try out some of these tools for yourself and you will soon be offering a much more personalised and targeted message to affiliates.
