iGaming players in Italy will now be able to enjoy a Control Centre safer gambling product launched by the 888 Group. The product is a customer-facing interface that aims to allow customers to self-monitor their gambling activity and adjust accordingly in order to offset negative experiences due to gambling.
First launched in the UK in November 2019, the Control Centre offers features such as “take a break” restrictions to force customers to step away from the screen for some time, deposit limits so that customers only spend what they have spare and self-exclusion options to get away from the sites for good.
Since 2019, the Control Centre has expanded into other regulated markets, where they are actively embraced. For example, the 888 Group reported 23% more use in safer gambling tools across its customers, with 102% using the “take a break” tool in particular.
In a statement, the 888 Group’s vice president of customer safety, Andrew Anthony, said: “888 we recognise the need to use our proprietary technology to protect customers and promote safer play.”
“By giving customers transparent information about their gambling activity in real time, we continue to ensure that safer gambling remains at the heart of the 888 customer experience.”
“We are focused on ensuring that our customers are empowered to make safe and responsible decisions about their gambling, and we remain committed to continually investing in our teams and technology to create industry-leading, user-friendly tools that help achieve this.”
