The newly appointed Prime Minister, Liz Truss, has appointed a new Culture Secretary in place of Nadine Dorries, who has stepped down from the position.
Michelle Donelan has been appointed the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. What this means, in particular, is that the government’s review of the 2005 Gambling Act is soon to resume. Donelan is expected to look at the reform of the 2005 Gambling Act in the “coming weeks” as her first task as Culture Secretary.
The white paper outlining how the government should tackle industry reform has been hit with delay after delay, not least due to the resignation of the British former Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
