Greek sportsbook Stoiximan has applauded the people of the Southern European country for doing their part in the fight against Covid-19.
Its TV campaign broadcasted in Greece, which is part of the operator’s #OneTeam campaign, aims to both spread awareness for the cause and provide hope for a better future.
The commercial features Olympic champions, as well as a range of famous athletes.
Bringing the country together
As part of its campaign, Stoiximan has donated €250,000 to Greece’s national health system. On top of this, it has offered supplies to neighbouring countries in which it operates – including Cyprus.
The Greek TV ad includes a number of famous sporting personnel, including French footballer Mathieu Valbuena – who plays for Piraeus-based Olympiakos. Ex-Greek international Giorgios Samaras also features.
Some of the Olympic champions on show include gymnast Eleftherios Petrounias and pole vaulter Katerina Stefanidis.
Stoiximan’s Romania-facing brand, Betano, has also launched a digital campaign with a variety of big sporting names. In this, it has included a call to action so that viewers can join local fundraising efforts for the Red Cross.
Returning the favour
The company’s press release says that rather than the public applauding athletes, who are described as “a great inspiration to everyone”, the roles are reversed.
This time, the pros are applauding the people of Greece and “encouraging the frontline workers, first responders, the ones who are fighting battles in hospitals, factories, public and primary sector workforce and all those who have not ceased working in order to help others.”
Stoiximan is well-known within the Greek sports betting market. At this year’s inaugural Greek Bookmaker Awards, the company picked up seven trophies. These included ‘Best Marketing Solution’, ‘Best Social Media Engagement’ and ‘Best Sports Betting Bookmaker Greece’.
