The Racing and Digital division of Sportech has secured an extension of its technology licensing and services agreement with the Danish operator Danske Spil. This new agreement should carry forward for several years.
The new deal will see Sportech’s Quantum System Tote pari-mutuel betting system being delivered to Danske Spil, along with a variety of operational tools. For example, they will be providing the operator with the latest versions of their online pools betting platform plus a new interface that consolidates data and wagering.
This follows on from an initial integration of the systems across Danske Spil’s gaming terminals in November of last year.
The chief executive of Danske Spil, Niels Erik Folmann, said: “The team at Sportech have been responsive to the needs of Danske Spil as we pursue our growth and sustainability objectives, and their technology solutions provide a strong platform upon which to expand our delivery of pools betting on horseracing in Denmark.”
Though it is a market that many might not initially consider, horseracing is one of the biggest and there are plenty of opportunities here for affiliates to investigate. With new pari-mutuel technologies constantly hitting the market, there are many improvements that can be made. Affiliates should look into changes like those in this extension as an example of the changes being made in this industry.
