International betting operator Parimatch has launched “A New Epic Story” – a marketing campaign featuring the former UFC Champion, Conor McGregor.
The campaign features 15 shots of the Irishman, which will feature on billboards throughout Eastern Europe.
An accompanying short video, created by the Canadian director Angelo Marten and French filmmaker Charlie Bravo, has also been released. The filming for this took three days altogether, and was shot in Dublin – McGregor’s place of birth – and the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
Parimatch and Conor McGregor: The partnership
Parimatch CEO Sergey Portnov said: “It’s impossible to put Conor’s personality into words, or remain indifferent to him.
“In his advertising campaign with Parimatch, he was true to himself. Unpredictable and brutal, but always reliable and charged to win.”
The MMA fighter and boxer is one of the world’s most recognisable athletes. Upon the Irishman’s trip to Ukraine last month, Parimatch hosted a press conference to mark the occasion. During this, he stated that he’ll probably make a return to UFC early next year. Justin Gaethe and Donald Cerrone are both thought to be potential opponents, but the sport’s governing body hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
McGregor signed a two-year personal endorsement deal with the operator in February. For the duration of this partnership, he’ll collaborate on promotional content and consumer activations across the CIS region. Other Parimatch ambassadors include boxing legend Mike Tyson, UFC fighters Alexey Oleynic and Peter Yan, and the Shevchenko sisters.
Parimatch enjoyed boosted exposure during the recent UFC Fight night in Moscow, where its branding was prominent. The company is the official betting partner for this sport in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It also has a presence in over 60 countries, as well as its own affiliate program.
