iGaming affiliate Leadstar Media has been awarded a vendor licence for New Jersey by the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
The Stockholm-based company will start by introducing two of its main products to this market – bettingscanner.com and unitedgamblers.com.
Leadstar Media has also confirmed that it has submitted licence applications for two other US states – Indiana and Pennsylvania.
Supporting the “ultimate goal”
After being given the go-ahead for its expansion into the Garden State, CEO Eskil Kvarnström shared his thoughts. The Swede was particularly delighted about how this supports the company’s wider goals.
His words were as follows.
“Our ultimate goal is to be one of the main igaming affiliates in the US. We are therefore thrilled that we have received our first state license, the first of many we expect. License applications have also been sent for Pennsylvania and Indiana.
“New Jersey allows players to create an account and place bets online from anywhere within state lines, which is essential for our business model to be successful.
“This makes New Jersey a key market for us compared to Iowa or Rhode Island, where in-person registration hinders market growth.”
US sports betting market growth
New Jersey is home to 17 authorised sports betting operators. A number of states are moving towards offering the regulated version of this vertical online, with Maryland being one of the hopefuls.
Getting a foot in the door of one of the world’s fast-developing markets aligns with Leadstar Media’s ambitious growth plans. Kvarnström also emphasised his optimism in this sense.
“As a team, we’re highly ambitious and always looking forward to the next project and the next market. We truly believe in our products and what we are doing as a company and we want as many sports bettors and casino players to benefit from our work.”
Currently, Leadstar Media operates websites for various other markets. These include Sweden the UK.
