Unibet, a part of Kindred Group, has launched Watch&Bet, a new live streaming player, which will allow customers to place a bet on live sports without leaving the stream. Unibet will also offer a live odds overlay while the games play out.
An industry-first and revolutionary move
The live stream Watch&Bet player will make its debut on the Unibet sportsbook app, better-accommodating sports betting customers’ unique live engagements and preferences on mobile devices.
Described as “an industry-first” and a “revolutionary move” by Kindred in its statement, the new sports betting overlay will enable Unibet mobile customers to watch and bet on live sports without ever taking their eyes off the action.
This new feature will initially be available on the two biggest in-play sports, football and tennis, and in most of Unibet’s European markets. The launch will be exclusively on the iOS App – but Android and the mobile web browser will “follow very soon after”, says the press release.
A key project
The application is per the company’s app “first mindset and grand vision” of how it can “transform the in-play betting experience”, said Chief Product Officer at Kindred Group Erik Bäcklund, adding that “with this new Watch&Bet player we are one step closer towards that dream”.
When asked to explain this new feature Bäcklund says that it was “easily explained with three words – Fast, Easy and Fun. Fast, because it enables our customers to see the action and react to it instantly. Easy, because the design is clever and intuitive. Fun, because this is a whole new way of enjoying the live sports watching and betting experience”.
Let’s remember that Unibet broadcasts over 85,000 sports and 100,000 racing events globally every year and that Kindred Group has reported its stronger ever fourth quarter in January 2021.
