Stockholm-listed operator Kindred has retired its 32Red subsidiary from the Italian market. This comes Kindred moves to consolidate its market presence in Italy despite operating in this region since 2012. Players will have the chance to move their accounts to the flagship brand Unibet.
Services terminated on 30 November
This move is a strategic decision from Kindred who hope to focus on Unibet in Italy. Players already signed up to 32Red have been given a notice that informed them that the services will be terminated on 30 November. If players want to maintain their accounts, they will be able to transfer over to Unibet.it.
Recent market changes involving taxes in Italy have resulted in other brands such as Flutter Entertainment withdrawing from the market. However, Kindred noted that this was not the reason for the move.
A strong commitment
Unibet is a strong brand in the Italian market and so it comes as no surprise that they would choose to focus their efforts on this one. They are not withdrawing from the Italian market entirely by choosing to suspend 32Red.
A spokesperson for Kindred said: “Kindred remains committed to the Italian market. We are constantly reviewing our brand footprint and wish to provide our customers with the best brand option and experience.”.
With 32Red set to retire from the Italian market at the end of the month, we look forward to seeing how Kindred utilises their resources to improve Unibet in Italy.
