A leading sportsbook operator in the USA, FanDuel has become the first operator to sign up for the AGA’s initiative for responsible gambling. The ‘Have A Game Plan’ initiative is a public service campaign that aims to promote responsible gambling in the USA.
Millions donated by FanDuel
FanDuel is the first operator to get on board with this campaign, created by the American Gaming Association. They are hoping that this sign up will result in more operators joining and helping to promote responsible gambling in all regulated markets in the USA.
The announcement of FanDuel’s collaboration with the AGA came through a press release which also revealed that they plan to allot millions of dollars to support the campaign. They also hope to work with the media partners, team and league to ensure the responsible gambling messages is shown across a range of platforms going forward.
Promoting responsible gambling is key
The ‘Have a Game Plan’ campaign was originally created back in 2019 and it helps to teach players in the USA about the dangers of gambling, alongside new markets opening up in various states.
CEO of FanDuel Group, Matt King said: “As the mobile gaming industry leader in the US, we believe promoting responsible gaming behaviours is a core tenet of growing our business and the industry as a whole.
We are not only going to commit substantial FanDuel resources to promote Have a Game Plan, but we intend to build a consortium of partners throughout the sports and gaming business to scale this initiative and we encourage other operators to join us.”
This sentiment was echoed by the AGA President and CEO, Bill Miller who expressed his gratitude to FanDuel for choosing to join the initiative at this time.
