In an industry first, DraftKings has released a new branded gift card this week. This sports betting operator has created the gift card in partnership with InComm Payments. This latest launch will allow customers in convenience stores across the USA to gift the DraftKings experience.
Innovative initiative
The DraftKings gift card is the first of its kind and it is certainly sparking conversations in the industry. The gift cards, made in partnership with technology and payments firm InComm Payments will be launched in several convenience stores including Speedway and Dollar General.
Customers will be able to purchase the cards in denominations of $25 and $50.
Co-Founder and President of DraftKings North America, Matt Kalish said: “Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, we are proud to work with InComm Payments to get DraftKings gift cards on the shelves at several popular retailers.”
Matt added: “We are thrilled to provide our customers with another way to fund their accounts and engage with our real money products through this first-of-its-kind offering.”
Expanding reach
By partnering with InComm Payments, they will be able to improve its brand presence and reach. Customers will notice the DraftKings logo in their local convenience store and this will increase the physical distribution for this brand.
Senior Vice President at InComm Payments, Tim Richardson said: “This agreement not only offers consumers a great gifting opportunity but also represents a significant brand expansion and enhancement opportunity for DraftKings who, for the first time, will benefit from having its brand present in tens of thousands of InComm Payments’ retail partner locations across the US.”
DraftKings might be the first operator to offer this kind of physical gift card in stores in the US but they won’t be the last. This innovative idea should set them up for 2021 and other operators should take note.
