Following a vote, the executive committee of the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) has granted membership to Gambling.com Group, making it the first member focused on covering the emerging US sports betting market.
Gambling.com Group produces daily news content covering the world of regulated sports betting in the US for its two main US-facing websites: gambling.com and bookies.com. The content includes breaking news, industry and legislative updates, feature stories, betting analysis and opinion-editorial. The sites also provide product reviews, comparisons, bonuses and tips.
Founded in 1974, the APSE is a professional organisation of administrative sports executives, their assistants and other sports department employees. The organisation strives for fairness, sensitivity and the highest standards of sports journalism. Membership allows our journalists to more effectively do their job, gain recognition for their work, and serve as a resource to others within the APSE working to effectively cover sports betting.
Charles Gillespie, Chief Executive of Gambling.com Group, said: “We are very pleased to become the newest members of the Associated Press Sports Editors. Approval of our application is recognition of both the important work our journalists do and of the tremendous momentum behind the new regulated sports betting market in America.
“Covering this emerging segment of the sports media landscape in a responsible, informed way is critical to the development of the regulated sports betting market. APSE membership will help us to continue as a leading voice in the sector.”
