Inspired Entertainment has announced the appointment of Sebastián Nogues as head of business development for its Brazil Interactive division. This move follows the company’s growing presence in the Brazilian market, where they look to capitalize on the emerging gaming market.
A proven leader in the Latin American gaming industry
Sebastián Nogues comes from an impressive background in affiliate marketing and business development. In his previous role, Nogues acted as CEO of Latin American Gaming Affiliates (LAGA), where he oversaw a number of transformations including restructuring, rebranding, and regional expansion.
His time as CEO at LAGA is widely seen as one of the main reasons why the company became a key player in Latin America’s gaming affiliate industry — and even before this, he held senior-level roles at Control+F5 Gaming and ParsePort.
Brazil: The market ready for expansion
With a population of over 200 million, and a culture that centers around sports and gaming, it’s no surprise that Brazil is one of the world’s largest emerging iGaming markets.
The government has recently started to look at regulating online gaming —something expected to be finalized by 2025— and this move looks set to unlock even more opportunities for operators and affiliates.
In a statement, Nogues said of his appointment:
“Brazil presents a significant opportunity for Inspired, and I am excited to work with our talented team to strengthen our presence, foster strategic partnerships, and deliver exceptional value to our clients.”
Inspired Entertainment continues to grow
Already, Inspired Entertainment has a significant global presence. At the time of writing, they operate in some 35 jurisdictions, and they offer a wide variety of products including virtual sports, gaming systems, and digital games.
The company is based in New York, and is traded publicly on NASDAQ. They operate in most regulated markets, and continue to expand into emerging sectors — Brazil being the latest.
Claire Osborne, Vice President of Interactive at Inspired Entertainment, also commented on Nogues’ qualifications, saying:
“Sebastián’s comprehensive expertise in affiliate marketing and business development, and his profound understanding of the Brazilian and Latin American gaming markets make him an exceptional fit for this role. His strategic insight and extensive industry experience will be invaluable as we advance our growth and innovation strategy in the region.”
Yet another positive signal for operators and affiliates
Affiliates currently have their eyes on a number of emerging iGaming markets — and it’s clear Brazil offers a huge amount of potential. As operators like Inspired Entertainment continue to enter new markets, affiliates will play a key role in driving traffic and increasing visibility — and a solid strategy is vital to effectively engage with local audiences.
While a regulated iGaming market in Brazil is still being legally structured, affiliates would be wise to begin looking at how they can adapt, if they plan to target the Latin American country — and there’s no better time than today, as the legal framework is expected to be finalized early next year.
