iLottery operator Lottoland has extended its presence into the sports betting field, having officially launched its first sportsbook. The product will be powered by Altenar, a sportsbook provider based in Malta.
Rolling out slowly
Available in a selection of markets for the time being, the Lottoland sportsbook will be continue to be rolled out over the course of this year. Players in jurisdictions where it’s offered will now have access to both sports betting and lottery, plus other games, through the operator’s website.
Nigel Birrell, Lottoland Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled to be incorporating a sportsbook platform into our product offering for Lottoland players.”
He continued: “Our customers are at the heart of what we do, and for that reason we are very pleased to be providing a one stop shop for lottery betting, gaming and sports.”
Key product features
Altenar’s sports betting platform will provide a variety of useful features for players. These include a broad selection of in-play betting markets, along with a player-oriented user experience. Tying into the second of these, users will be able to toggle interface settings.

When asked for his thoughts, Lottoland’s Birrell also commented further on the deal with Altenar. He had the following to say.
“Having Altenar at the helm of its development means that we can truly focus on customer experience. Competitive pricing, ease of use, market variety and frictionless user journeys are all incorporated into the design.”
In addition to its player offerings, Lottoland also has its own affiliate program. A range of pricing structures are available, such as cost-per-acquisition (CPA).
Lottoland also agreed a deal with affiliate compliance specialist Rightlander in November 2019.
