PokerStars has launched in Pennsylvania, making history in the process by becoming the state’s first live online poker brand. It was launched as part of a joint-venture which also involves its parent company — the Stars Group — and the American broadcaster Fox Sports.
It went live in Pennsylvania alongside its sister brand, PokerStars Casino. These two entities, in addition to Fox Bet, are all live in the Keystone State as well as New Jersey. Affiliates with traffic can therefore promote these brands through the PokerStars affiliate program.
PokerStars’ launch ends a lengthy wait
Matt Primeaux, FoxBet President, said: “We’re excited to launch PokerStars as the first online poker option available to players in Pennsylvania.
“Including today’s launch of our highly-rated casino product, which is now available in the FoxBet and PokerStars apps. We’re proud to say that we’re currently the only online provider offering all three forms of regulated gambling in the state.”
PokerStars is helping players to celebrate its expansion with a number of promotional offers. Punters have access to a range of titles and tournaments. Meanwhile, its casino brand will offer various in-house developed slots to punters. These include popular titles such as blackjack and roulette.
PokerStars ambassador Jennifer Shade was also positive about the brand’s launch in the state: “Finally, PokerStars is available in my hometown and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
“Players in Pennsylvania have been looking forward to this day. I can’t wait to be a part of the action. Hope to see many of you on the tables!”
The diversification of online offerings
The brand’s launch comes almost exactly two years after HB271 was passed in congress. It meant that Pennsylvania came the fourth US state to legalise online poker, after New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.
The Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Mount Airy Casino Resort, Fox Bet’s partner in Pennsylvania, acknowledged the importance of diversifying its offerings. “We’re constantly investing in our player experience. In 2019, that means going beyond brick-and-mortar to bring customers one of the most exciting gaming options available.
“Through strategic partnerships such as our affiliation with PokerStars, Mount Airy is committed to offering the most cutting-edge gaming experience possible.”
